Fox Fur(s)
Fox Furs! Somehow images of Foxy Fox in a 20s Fox Fur Opera coat came to mind (Yes, I realize how disturbing this kinda is, hehe). I love her spit curls and the coat's fluff!

Downton Abbey Sketch
I finally got onto the Downton Abbey bandwagon! I realize I am years late. I have been trying to gesture draw from it as I've been working through the show. This one has been a favorite so far.
Blue Japanese Maples Leaves
I've been trying to take the time and paint more. I used watercolor for these pretty momiji (Japanese maple) leaves, inspired by the pretty colors of fall. Practice, practice, practice!

Maiko/Geiko Sketches
The Maiko and Geiko of Kyoto are an never-ending source of inspiration for me. I love everything about them; their clothing and how every little thing they wear has significance, the bright colors, the sacrifice they make to preserving some of the traditional Japanese arts. I find myself idly sketching them when I feel myself having a creative block.
I love the Wysteria tsumami kanzashi (flower hairpins).
Geiko speed paint. I like the expression in the eyes.

1970's Owl
One of my favorite pastimes it looking at midcentury artwork and design, especially work by Eames Panton. I love the bold colors and the strong shapes. I also love the fact that a large portion of housewares have owl motifs. They're all so cute I just had to draw one myself!

Lady Sketches
Some lady sketches. First Cersei from "A Feast for Crows", how I see her expression of intense distaste.
Also, a 60s mod space gal, I think I've been watching too much "Mad Men".

Texas Blue Bonnet
Which are also called lupins (I believe)? They are one of my most favorite flowers. I used to have them grow in my backyard all the time and they were so lovely!

Blackberries
A quick piece I did on a break. I love the shapes and colors in nature, and blackberries are terribly fun to draw. I need to do this more often!

Autumn Tayuu
My recent trip to Japan has given me so many things to be inspired about! The fall colors of the Japanese maple trees and the beautiful textiles were simply stunning. I don't even begin to do them justice here, but it was a fun way for me to practice with a way to stylize leaves.

Autumn Scene Revisited
I've been wanting to revisit this piece for some time. I really love the colors I used for it, and I felt it made for a very eye-catching image. I'm going to re-skin my portfolio site with this background, which really put the fire under my butt to go back and make some improvements.
I still get excited when I look at colorful leaves. Yeah fall!

Skull King
So much talk of Zombies and their ilk as of late. Trying to brush off the rust with a sketch. Skulls are way cooler with horns!
